Ironside to head MoS in Associated team reshuffle

Associated Newspapers has appointed two new managing directors for the Mail on Sunday and the Evening Standard in a reshuffle triggered by the death of Lord Rothermere in June.

Lord Rothermere’s son, Jonathan Harmsworth, took over as chairman of the Daily Mail & General Trust leaving vacant the post of managing director of the Evening Standard.

Kevin Beatty, managing director of the Mail on Sunday, has now become managing director of the Evening Standard and executive director of the new products division.

Mike Ironside, advertisement director on the Daily Mail, is promoted to managing director of the Mail on Sunday. The Mail’s advertisement manager, John Teal, becomes acting ad director.

The current advertisement director for the Mail on Sunday, Simon Barnes, is also being promoted to the post of managing director of the new group publishing division.

Mail on Sunday advertisement sales controller Sally de la Bedoyere will become advertisement director in his place.

The changes will come into effect from January 1.
