IPA chief Hull quits for md role at agency

Janet Hull, advertising effectiveness director for the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, is leaving to become managing director of the integrated marketing communications agency EPB/The Square.

Hull’s appointment follows the acquisition of The Square by US independent Earle Palmer Brown group in September last year. EPB has 14 offices in the US and a gross income of $700m (424m).

Hull will report to EPB’s founder and group chief executive, Jeb Brown, who is based in New York.

The agency handles British Steel, Midlands Electricity (MEB) and business-to-business accounts for Peugeot.

During her five years at the IPA, Hull has been credited with raising the profile of the advertising effectiveness awards through an association with the Financial Times and marketing trade bodies.

Earlier this month, IPA director of training and development Miranda Kennett left to run the Coaching House, a specialist training company for senior executives.
