The phrase “press briefing” was never more apt. The Diary recently received a press invite to Sara Lee Courtalds’ lingerie and legwear marketing presentation. Semi-naked women in their Pretty Polly bras, briefs and tights sashayed up and down in the Covent Garden Hotel’s modest room, in front of a handful of journos on a Friday morning.
There was more. The assembled scribes were requested to look out for the detailed leaf patterns on the bras and the matching knickers and tights – a new marketing strand for Pretty Polly brand, apparently, is lingerie and hosiery that actually matches. Surprising the Diary could count only two men in the audience.
