Time Inc hires Asia chief to head Fortune Group Europe

Time Inc, a division of AOL Time Warner, has appointed the marketing director of Fortune Asia Pacific, Stan Stalnaker, as marketing director for Fortune Group Europe. Stalnaker will be responsible for marketing, advertising and brand communication across Europe, the Middle East, Russia and Africa (EMEA).

The position was created following the departure of Fortune marketing manager EMEA Stephanie Trainer. A spokeswoman for Time Inc says that Trainer left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Stalnaker will be based in London and will report to international advertising director Andy Bush. Previously, Stalnaker was based in Hong Kong and was responsible for the communication of the Fortune brand to consumers in the Asia Pacific region.

Last year, Time Inc appointed Carat International global media account director James Griffiths as the first marketing director for Time Magazine’s European edition (MW April 19, 2001).

The appointment followed the acquisition of Time Warner by AOL, to form AOL Time Warner in 2001. Griffiths role is to support the company’s advertising sales operations and aid the ongoing development of cross-brand packages within both Time and AOL Time Warner.

Magazines within the Fortune Group include Fortune, Business 2.0 and FSB (Fortune Small Business).
