Ingram to head WPP’s P&G business

Grey London chief executive Tamara Ingram is leaving the role to head up WPP’s $1bn (510m) Procter & Gamble business…

Grey London chief executive Tamara Ingram is movinge to head up Grey’s  $1bn (£510m) global Procter & Gamble (P&G) business. She will also become UK group chairman.

She will remain as UK group chief executive and chief executive of Grey London until a replacement is found.

Ingram will now oversee all of WPP’s global relationships with the packaged goods company and takes over the role from Neil Kriesberg, who retired at the end of 2006.

Ingram has been splitting her duties as Grey chief executive with a role running WPP’s Team P&G. But it is felt the London office needs a dedicated chief executive, who will also take responsibility for Joshua/G2. Ingram will remain in post until a successor is found.

Grey Global Group chairman and chief executive Jim Heekin says: "Tamara’s appointment is the beginning of a new chapter in our partnership with P&G. She is a natural, intuitive judge of what builds brands."
