Vodafone, the mobile operator, is launching a TV music programme in partnership with MTV. Vodafone Soundbites, due to air this month, is a series of 21 three-minute shows.
The multi-platform programme will launch on MTV in seven languages, and will also be able to viewed online and on mobile. It will feature content looking at the global music scene, including artist interviews at gigs and festivals as well as performers describing their first time on stage.
MTV says the show’s multi-platform media approach will aim “to engage music lovers everywhere at anytime through their preferred means”.
Vodafone and MTV recently joined forces to launch an online global interactive profile on MySpace – Vodafone Music Reporter – which offered music fans a chance to become an MTV reporter in an online and mobile Vodafone Soundbites episode.
Vodafone global brand director David Wheldon says the mobile operator is using the show to build on its “long-lasting music heritage”.
