Zurich Insurance has handed its direct marketing and digital marketing business for new brand Zurich Connect to OgilvyOne.
The agency won the account after a pitch against Publicis Dialog. The latter remains as agency on the Zurich Connect account and will handle handle TV, press, radio and outdoor activity. The Publicis network remains the Europen lead agency.
Zurich Connect is a direct insurance brand that will compete against brands such as eSure and Direct Line.
Zurich Insurance also added Bright Blue Day to its direct marketing roster last October to handle the financial services broker division. Zurich UK’s chief marketing officer is Mark Searles.
The company is currently reviewing its global media planning and buying account. The incumbent is ZenithOptimedia.
In May last year Zurich launched a recruitment drive to replace many of its marketers that left following consolidation and the closure of offices in locations such as Birmingham and Swindon. The company at that point said it was looking for a more specialised and senior team.
