Women’s Aid is launching a national domestic violence awareness campaign featuring actress Keira Knightley.

The ad has been directed by Joe Wright, director of the multi-award winning film, Atonement.

The campaign, created by Grey London, is launching today (April 2) and includes cinema, television, print and online activity.

The BAFTA-winning director and actress have donated their time to work on the hard-hitting short film. Media has also been donated by Pearl & Dean, DCM and Admedia.

The two minute film, “CUT”, sees Knightley arrive home after a days filming to be confronted by her abusive partner.

Nicola Harwin CBE, Women’s Aid CEO says: “We hope the Women’s Aid campaign will both increase public awareness of domestic violence, letting abused women and their families and friends know that there is help out there, and also raise vital funds for Women’s Aid, to help us to continue in our work.”
