French have no prick of conscience over thornication

It’s been a while since the Diary poked fun at any foreigners, but the press launch of Spontex’s latest UK ad (for rubber gloves, no less) provided too much of an opportunity to miss, hosted as it was by a young lady clad in nothing but a tiny halter-neck dress fashioned from said gloves. Oddly, she wanted a photograph of herself “to show her mum”.

The UK ad is rather racy, as these things go – a couple abandon the washing up for a bit of begloved big love – but the ads created for the French market were much more interesting. How does the idea of hedgehogs queueing up to have their way with a scouring pad prick your fancy? No? What about the young stud using the finger of a rubber glove to cover a protruberance it perhaps wasn’t designed for?

Now, if you’ll excuse the Diary, it has some urgent cleaning to do…
