Boy meets Girl lands Stella task

Interbrew, the Belgian beer company, has moved its &£1m below-the-line account for Stella Artois into start-up Boy meets Girl S&J. The agency will also handle a number of smaller Interbrew brands, such as Becks, in Ireland.

It is the first account to be moved into Boy meets Girl, which was set up by ex-St Luke’s senior managers Andy Law and Kate Stanners. The agency was on the shortlist for the &£10m Smart car business, which was awarded to Farm last July.

The decision follows Boy meets Girl’s takeover of Interbrew’s existing agency Toffee. The agency’s founder, Margot West, will join Boy meets Girl later this month as managing partner for below-the-line business. She will also take responsibility for Boy meets Girl’s existing below-the-line accounts, which include film company Buena Vista, Chrysler Jeep and Kraft.

Boy meets Girl inherited its below-the-line business from The Reef, which it took over when it relaunched Springer & Jacoby (S&J) in January. It has also taken over design agency Foundation 33.
