CIA vice-chairman to head JWT agency services wing

CIA Medianetwork UK vice-chairman Marco Rimini is quitting for a senior role at J Walter Thompson, as head of agency services.

The role, which has been created for Rimini, will involve heading JWT’s consultancy service and business development division. An agency source says the job is “a management role but with a planning bent, not a media position”.

Rimini’s background is in account planning on the full-service agency side, rather than media – initially at Horner Collis & Kirvan and later EURO RSCG. He joined CIA in January 1994, having completed an MBA in Milan.

He is understood to have been unhappy at CIA for some time. As Marketing Week went to press he was unavailable for comment.

CIA has suffered a series of senior losses in recent months. In October managing director Mike Tunnicliffe quit and in August marketing director Mike Anderson resigned to join New PHD.
