A clean sweep if ever there was

Oh, the housework. Never a pleasure, always a chore and the bane of many a living arrangement. The Diary has certainly had its share of arguments over the lack of effort on the part of housemates when it comes to cleaning the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom… Oh, and don’t even mention the washing-up.

So imagine the Diary’s excitement on hearing that you can win your very own cleaner for a whole year. That’s what’s on offer from detergent brand Comfort and the Capital FM Network, which are running a competition to win a year’s use of a cleaner. Comfort brand executive Fatim Kesvani says: “Music plays an essential part in motivating yourself to complete household chores.”

Never a truer word. The Diary remembers many a Saturday morning begrudgingly doing the chores with mum to the rousing warblings of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, who were outside mowing the lawn.
