Centura marketing director quits after less than a year

Centura Foods marketing director Katherine Rose has left after less than a year in the role. It is not clear whether she has another job.

Rose joined the company last July from BBC Magazines, where she was marketing planning director (MW July 8, 2004). She was brought in to replace Sue Knight, who was poached by Premier Foods, and held responsibility for developing and marketing across the company’s three brands.

Centura, which owns the Bisto, Paxo and Sharwood’s brands, has confirmed that it is seeking a replacement for Rose. It has appointed former Allied Domecq marketer Mark Doorbar as interim marketing director.

Rose’s departure comes amid a number of changes at parent company RHM. The company has undergone a major restructure aimed at streamlining the business from four units to three.

The rejig has led to a number of changes, including the departure of RHM bread bakeries divisional marketing director Paula Moss. It also saw the promotion of Ginny Knox to chief operating officer of the culinary brands division in addition to her role as managing director at Centura. The company has recently reviewed its &£9.8m advertising roster and appointed McCann Erickson to handle the Bisto and Sharwood’s brands (MW March 17).
