Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners has been appointed by Marston’s to promote its sponsorship of the England cricket team during this winter’s The Ashes series.
The agency pitched against WCRS and incumbent Chick Smith Trott to win the business and the review was handled by Agency Insight.
Marston’s signed a three-year deal in August to become the official beer of the England and Wales Cricket Board. The brand, which is owned by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries, will have a presence at all home internationals, as well as The Ashes, as part of the deal.
To mark the sponsorship, drinkers, brewery and pub staff are being given the chance to win a trip to watch The Ashes in Australia. There will also be a number of promotional opportunities for the brewer to exploit, including player appearances and signed merchandise.
The partnership sees England bowler Matthew Hoggard becoming a brand ambassador for the company’s Pedigree ale.
