Thinkproperty.com, the Guardian Media Group-owned property portal, is seeking its first advertising agency in a bid to boost its brand awareness. The pitch will start later this month.
The move comes as the portal gears up to challenge the top four players in online property after a strong first six months. The site will redirect some of its £9m overall marketing spend into advertising to reinforce its brand identity, which has so far been built online and through existing GMG associations.
Mark Goddard, group managing director of GMG Property, says Thinkproperty aims to rank second only to Rightmove in the UK online property sector.
He adds: “We have a strategy that adapts and are looking to market ourselves aggressively in our push for further growth.”
Thinkproperty.com launched in January and after a strong fist six months, it is ranked fourth in the top ten property websites in the UK last month. According to online data provider, Hitwise, Thinkproperty now ranks ahead of FindaProperty, Fish4homes, Your-move.co.uk, hotproperty.co.uk, Upmystreet and PropertyFinder in the UK search listings for property sites. The site is also in the top 10 property sites according to comScore.
The site lists more than 250,000 properties for sale or to rent and has more than 1 million unique visitors every month.
