Telegraph Media Group names AOL’s Flanigan as marketing head

The Telegraph Media Group has appointed AOL marketing chief Barry Flanigan to the role of marketing director. The role has been vacant since Kate Vanneck left to join Time Media last July.

Flanigan, currently director of marketing and communications at AOL, will be responsible for all of TMG’s marketing. He will take over the role in early March will report to Telegraph executive director of consumer markets, Michael Moore.

Vanneck left the company in the middle of last year to return to Times Media as sales and marketing director in the wake of slashes to TMG’s marketing budget.

It has taken almost nine months to fill her position, in November last year, TMG’s senior brand manger Emma Fraser was promoted to the new role of head of brand communications. A TMG spokeswoman says Fraser’s role will not be affected by Flanigan’s appointment.
