Cadbury’s Dairy Milk is launching two new flavours in its Fruit & Nut range to celebrate the brand’s 80th birthday. It is understood that Cadbury also hopes the variants will appeal to female consumers.

The new flavours, Cranberry and Granola and Apricot Crumble Crunch (MW, 5 June), will be supported by a £2m campaign that will run across TV, sampling, experiential activities and dedicated point of sale activity.

The original Fruit & Nut bar was launched in 1928 and Cadbury claims that it is the most successful flavour combination. The new flavours also aimed at consumers looking for different textures. The confectionary giant says that a total of 74 “experts” were involved in developing the flavours.

The news bars have different packaging to the core Diary Milk range to make them distinct from the everyday bars.
