Deputy chairman Mendelsohn leaving Grey London

Grey London deputy chairman Nicola Mendelsohn is leaving the agency after four years without a job to go to. Mendelsohn, who leaves at the end of the month, departs just four months after the arrival of David Patton as chief executive.

She was brought in from Bartle Bogle Hegarty as the new business director by former chief executive Garry Lace and was promoted to deputy chairman a year later.

Mendelsohn says: “The past four years with Grey have been a terrific journey and I am immensely proud of the agency we have built and all that we have accomplished. For some time I’ve been considering a change of direction and with a new team safely on board, the timing is perfect.”

Patton has already appointed Beattie McGuinness Bungay’s Jon Williams as the agency’s new creative chief to replace Dave Alberts. Last year he poached TBWA/London executive planning director Neil Hourston to head planning (MW†October 4, 2007). He replaced John Lowery, who left the agency in April last year.
