The Marketing Academy opens Scholarship and Fellowship programmes

Nominations and applications for the next Scholarship and Fellowship UK programmes are open.

The Marketing AcademyThe Marketing Academy has opened nominations and applications for the 2020 UK Scholarship and Fellowship programme.

The Scholarship programme, now taking its eleventh intake in the UK, offers emerging leaders in marketing, media, advertising and communications a free mentoring and learning platform.

The part-time programme offers future marketing leaders the opportunity to receive one-to-one mentoring from CMOs, CEOs, marketing directors, senior agency executives and entrepreneurs over nine months.

Scholars also attend boot camps that offer personal and professional development, and leadership skills that aim to set them up to become the business leaders of tomorrow.

Marketers need to be nominated to be considered, with nominations open until 17 February 2020. More information can be found on the The Marketing Academy website.

In a first for the Academy, the UK Scholarship programme is launching at the same time as the Australian and US schemes.

The Fellowship, which is now in its seventh year, is also open for applications. The free programme is designed to equip senior marketers with the tools and insight to step up to boards and into managing director and CEO roles.

The coaching and learning programme, developed in partnership with McKinsey & Company, consists of three residential events covering the skills and leadership capabilities required to become a CEO and sit on a board.

Highlights include a ‘CMO to CEO’ leadership element led by leadership expert and Marketing Week columnist Thomas Barta, and a day of media training provided by Freuds. Executive coaching by Wisdom 8 and sessions with high profile board directors are also included.

Several Fellowship alumni have been promoted to management or board positions since completing the programme. Notable alumni include Carol Welch, now managing director of Odeon, Craig Inglis, now customer director and board member of John Lewis & Partners and Otto Rosenberger who is now chief operating officer at Iglu.com.

Prospective fellows should nominate themselves before 20 October by clicking here.

The Marketing Academy is also launching its Fellowship programme in the US for the first time.
