Citroën UK has lost its top advertising executive Rob Kraushar, who has defected to Toyota.

Kraushar, who as advertising manager reported to marketing director Mike Ibbett at the French-owned company, is understood to have handed in his notice last month.

He will start as marketing communications manager at Toyota GB on October 4, replacing Simon Mohammed who died this year after a long illness. He will report to newly-promoted marketing director Paul Philpott.

Citroën says it is seeking a replacement for Kraushar. He was a member of the team that launched a naked Claudia Schiffer on an unsuspecting public for the controversial Citroën Xsara campaign by Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper.

The move follows a series of job moves at Toyota following the departure of Toyota GB sales director Andy Goss for Porsche. Marketing director Mike Moran was promoted to take on the enlarged role of commercial director following the move, while his second in command, Philpott, became marketing director (MW August 26).
