Spirit Advertising has been appointed to handle the &£5m pan-European advertising account for online media company ECountries.

ECountries assists companies expanding overseas by supplying business managers with advice on cross-border corporate investments.

Earlier this year Carat International picked up the company’s online and offline media accounts.

The ECountries website provides editorial content in the form of up-to-the-minute news and commentary from international markets. Content is managed by Michael Elliott, former editor of Newsweek International.

Spirit has created five full-page print ads which ran in the official Daily Bulletin, distributed at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The ads featured the diversity of ECountries product by linking it with key topics at the WEF.

Laurence Mitchell, head of marketing at ECountries, says: “Spirit’s brief was to devise a creative campaign for a senior and influential audience. There wasn’t a lot of time to play with and the result was original, fresh and very good.”

Richard Hammond, founder and managing partner of Spirit Advertising, adds: “It’s rare to find such a powerful business tool all in one bundle.
