Nissan Europe management team rejigged

Nissan Europe has appointed Volker Brien as vice-president of strategy and marketing as part of a wider management rejig.

In the UK, William Bosley has been made managing director of Nissan GB, replacing Brian Carolin, who is promoted to Nissan Europe as vice-president of sales. Bosley has been brought over from the US, where he was vice-president of aftersales for Nissan.

Brien, previously brand director at Renault-Nissan Netherlands, replaces Philippe Geffroy, who has been moved to Nissan Mexico as vice-president of sales and marketing.

Last October, Paul Willcox was installed as Nissan GB marketing director, and incumbent Simon Thomas was promoted to sales director (MW October 2, 2003).Nissan GB’s formal advertising agency of record is TBWA/London, but most advertising is handled at the agency’s Paris headquarters.

Renault has a controlling 44 per cent stake in Nissan. The companies are looking to achieve savings by sharing technology and components across the two brands. The new Renault Clio, available from 2005, will be built on the Nissan Micra platform, and Nissan uses Renault diesel engines in some of its cars.
