Redbus Outdoor is rolling out a Bluetooth advertising service across its network of poster sites on university campuses.
The move will allow advertisers to target students via Bluetooth downloads from its Xsite network of six-sheet posters. It has been launched at the 20 largest campuses, but will be available across the entire 100-strong network by the end of the year.
Lionsgate Film’s “Hard Candy” is the first movie trailer available for download, in a test campaign at the University of London. Redbus is hoping more film distributors will follow suit with advertisers offering music, games, podcasts and other free content to students.
They will be able to offer a range of downloadable content, from high-resolution films to text coupons.
Redbus Outdoor claims mobile ownership among students is at saturation point, with 99% owning one.
