Hammerson chooses Isobel for retail property task

Bullring

Isobel has been appointed by retail property developer Hammerson to handle the advertising for three shopping centres. The agency already handles the advertising for the developer’s iconic Bullring centre in Birmingham.

The agency will now handle all of the advertising for WestQuay in Southampton, The Oracle in Reading and Queensgate in Peterborough. The total account is worth £5m.

It is developing TV, print, outdoor and in-store work for all of the centres for the Christmas period.

The agency was appointed by the Bullring, which is co-owned by Hammerson, in April 2005 and was brief to reposition the shopping centre.

Hammerson has a portfolio of six shopping centres in the UK including Brent Cross. In 2005, it won the International Council of Shopping Centers’ European Shopping Centre of the Year award for the Bullring, which was built in 2003 and cost £500m.

Hammerson head of marketing Chris Green says: "We’re seeing clear commercial benefits from involving Isobel in our marketing activities at the Bullring. Consequently, we are now expanding our successful relationship with them to include other centres in our portfolio."
