OscarUK targets over-50s with brand deals

A consumer deals site aimed at so-called silver surfers has relaunched in a bid to attract more users and commercial partners and advertisers.

OscarUK

The site previously known as seniorconcessions.co.uk has rebranded to become OscarUK with an owl logo in a bid to become “softer” and “more user friendly.”

The rebrand comes after former First Direct commercial director Peter Simpson, Intermarketing Group managing director Glenn Patterson and PR agency Hatch Communications MD Jason Madeley decided to back the venture.

Simpson, who has become chairman of the venture, says the site is aiming to increase the numbers of offers covering areas including finance, travel and eating out to 10,000.

He adds the site is aiming to reach a target of 100,000 members. Its offers currently include discounts for over-50s from home shopping retail brand Littlewoods Direct and First Direct.

The site is for profit and offers list and socio demographic sharing deals to discount brand partners in addition to straight advertising on the site and specialist agency services for brands who want to target over-50 groups.
