The brand will advance into the Top 100 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange after the information provider Thompson Reuters took the decision to delist.

Following Reuters exit, Burberry becomes the company with the biggest market capitalisation on the reserve list. The company listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) four years ago. Its shares closed at 505.5p on Friday, valuing the brand at £2.2bn.

The move comes as the British brand is preparing to launch its first ever shows at London Fashion Week this month.

Christopher Bailey, creative director of Burberry, has said: “London is our home – it’s the heart of this global luxury brand and the centre of all our creativity. We are so excited to be showing during London Fashion Week and particularly to be part of its historic 25th anniversary.”

Burberry currently features Harry Potter star, Emma Watson, as the face of its advertising campaigns. Earlier this month the brand appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) as its strategic marketing partner.
