Schwarzkopf replaces top UK marketer

Schwarzkopf & Henkel UK’s personal care sales and marketing director, Peter Mangion, has left the company. It is not known whether he has a job to go to.

Schwarzkopf & Henkel UK’s personal care sales and marketing director, Peter Mangion, has left the company. It is not known whether he has a job to go to.

Mangion has been replaced by Frederic Collet, who is promoted from his previous position of director of category development.

Collet, who was based in France in his previous role, has been given the title of divisional general manager for the retail division of Schwarzkopf & Henkel UK. He will report to the company’s corporate vice-president, Hans Van Bylan, who is based in Dusseldorf.

Henkel acquired Schwarzkopf in November 1995 from German chemical concern Hoechst. Mangion oversaw the merger of the Schwarzkopf and Henkel brands.

The company spends about &£5m on advertising. Its creative account is held by Griffin Bacal Advertising, and CIA UK handles media.

Schwarzkopf’s UK product portfolio includes hair colourants Live, Nordic and Vital Colors, and haircare products Supersoft and Gliss. Schwarzkopf also produces Theramed toothpaste.

The company recently developed an e-commerce site, Color105.com, to sell 105 different shades of hair colour not available in the shops.

The haircare giant also has a professional division, which includes hair salon products.
