Orange hunts head of UK marketing

Top Orange UK marketer Alexis Dormandy is leaving to take up an undisclosed role at group level.

The company is looking for a UK vice-president of marketing to replace him. Director of customer lifecycle Jean Pascal van Overbeke will oversee UK marketing in the interim.

Dormandy, a former Virgin marketer, was appointed chief marketing officer at Orange UK last summer. His arrival sparked a restructure of the mobile operator’s marketing, which included the exit of UK vice-president of brand marketing Jeremy Dale, and the creation of a new brand team.

Dormandy was responsible for Orange’s marketing strategy and its relationship with its advertising agency Mother. He joined Orange in March last year as vice- president of strategy and corporate development.

Orange has also appointed head of consumer marketing Niall O’Keeffe to the newly created role of vice-president of brand and consumer propositions. O’Keeffe effectively replaces Alex Batchelor, who left to join Royal Mail as marketing director earlier this year (MW April 21).

Batchelor was vice-president of global brand, but O’Keeffe will now oversee both the brand and consumer teams. He will report to Orange vice-president of brand and consumer marketing Frank Boulben.

Orange has promoted Ebru Dorman to the new role of vice-president of value-based marketing.
