Beach Mate is the industry’s first collaborative tool of this type, and lets Facebook users invite their friends and family directly to the booking page of the brand’s site.
On the Beach created the application to make group bookings on the site a more straightforward process and to take any stress and expense away from the party organiser.
Once a customer has booked a flight and hotel on the company’s website they are given a reference number, which they can input into Beach Mate to make their booking appear on the Facebook page. Friends and Family can then follow the Beach Mate link to the correct page on the On the Beach site.
The brand now has the largest Facebook fan base of any online travel agent, with over 18,000 fans on its dedicated page.
On the Beach, founded in 1995, is currently hunting for an advertising agency to work on its first integrated campaign for launch in 2010. The company has appointed the intermediary Oyster Catchers to help with the pitch, which is being overseen by marketing director Alistair Daly.
