PC World chain launches free in-store magazine
PC World is launching an in-store consumer magazine, covering computers, gadgets and digital entertainment.
The 132-page PC World magazine, which has an initial print-run of 1 million, has been produced by contract publisher Future Plus and will be in stores later this week.
Steve Woodward, brand manager for the chain, which is part of Dixons Group, says the title will be about more than just PCs and will aim to cover the vast range of digital products now available to consumers.
He says: “Our aim is to guide readers through the vast range of options so as to help them get more value out of their technology.”
The first issue, due out on August 25, will offer features on giving a house a digital makeover and how to buy the most suitable laptop, along with the latest news on wireless networking.
It will come with &£300 of discount vouchers redeemable at PC World and will include a competition to win a fully installed digital home package worth &£2,500.
It will also feature a 48-page buyer’s guide, outlining the hardware, software, games and accessories available in PC World, as well as buying advice, tips and a jargon-busting section.
