YouTube is now generating over 2 billion views per day with the average user spending 15 minutes per day on the site according to the video-sharing platform’s latest blog post.
A recent post on the official YouTube blog read, “Today, thanks to you, our site has crossed another milestone: YouTube exceeds over two billion views a day. That’s nearly double the prime-time audience of all three major U.S. television networks combined.”
The service was launched five years ago and was acquired by interrnet search giant Google for $1.65bn in 2006. YouTube is now available in over 200 countries and supports high-definition and 3D content.
