Future extends music fan packs to iPad
Future Publishing has extended the Classic Rock fan pack proposition, that allows fans first access to artists’ new albums and exclusive content, to the iPad.
The publisher has partnered with rocker Alice Cooper to create the first iPad fan pack to launch the rockstar’s new album Welcome 2 My Nightmare, the follow-up to the 1975 multi-platinum selling LP.
The iPad fan pack features access to download the album via iTunes and exclusive content including a track by track video commentary by Alice and footage of his secret gig at London’s 100 Club.
Classic Rock magazine has also created a print version of the fan pack, which allows fans access to the new album ahead of its official October launch date and an interview with Alice and the special guests on his album, Ke$ha and Rob Zombie.
Both packs include two exclusive tracks that will not be available on the official album when it is released in October. The print version will retail at £14.99, while the iPad version can be downloaded for £12.99.
Mike Goldsmith, Future’s editor in chief of its iPad and tablet editions, says that the iPad has enabled the publisher to bring the fan pack concept “to life”.
Artists such as Blondie and Guns n’ Roses guitarist Slash have been the subject of previous Classic Rock print and CD fan packs.
